I Should Like To Write A Poem
I should like to write a poem,
before I am called to embrace that eternal dark.
That I might on this unresponsive world,
At least leave in place my distinctive mark.
Alas, I am doomed to snatch at things to say,
lacking any connection to those domains divine.
For all my attempted utterances turn out to be cliché,
The feeble echoes of Superior minds.
