Even without a plumb line in view.
Taboos morphed into norms
Traditions discarded for vanities

The inscription of damnation reads,
Warning of the impending death nestled
In the whorl of pleasure.
Lust, blinding and deaf, in passion sought,

He sups in the same plate with the devil,
Long spoon clasped in the palm of his hand.
Conscious of the presence of the impending evil,
That ravaged short-spoon off its garland.

In the jungle. His fights and victories
With the lions, hyenas, cheetahs and tigers,
Yet he bore no scratch.
