Alyson Leoffler Poems

I hope all this was worth it.
The lies, the cries, the cutting ties;
I'm sorry I couldn't satisfy.
The arrogance that you portray
...

I think I'm finally getting over,
Without getting over ON.
I doubt my war's ever been closer
To finally being won.
...

Why do the ones that 'love' me hurt me the most?
All I ever wanted was to hold her heart close.
I did my best and it wasn't enough,
I should be used to it but it's still so rough.
...

If my end is my beginning, than why am I so insecure?
If you say your war is ending, will you need me like you did before?
You said we were connected, but you walked right out the door...
You say that I have power, than why do I feel so poor?
...

Light us aflame, the only lovers still alive
Smoke the ashes of our beloved dead
We won't think of what we're doing,
Smoke will fill our empty heads
...

Flashing lights surround me;
I lie still in complete disarray as you look down at me and say...
Hey.
Eyes grow wide, hearts pound fast while we adventure through the looking glass
...

Spinning, spinning, spinning
Weaving, weaving, weaving
The pattern we've designed will soon be hanging by a thread.
Fate.
...

8.

You say you want to take it slow, but...
Baby, I don't know.
You take away my every ache and pain with the way you look at me.
I see not only the stars in the sky,
...

The apple of my eye they say
But their words don't begin to describe
how she looks TO ME.
I feel every stitch of pain you feel
...

Trace my jawline
Ever so gently you smile
I can't read you.
Lace your fingers into mine
...

Alyson Leoffler Biography

Born and raised in Pasadena, MD, I've learned to hold everything back and spit the chunks onto paper, or in this case a keyboard. I'm not fishing for compliments or praise, I just need an escape. But I do appreciate constructive criticism, or your feelings toward the writing.)

The Best Poem Of Alyson Leoffler

Unpredictable

I hope all this was worth it.
The lies, the cries, the cutting ties;
I'm sorry I couldn't satisfy.
The arrogance that you portray
was uncommon until today.
If what I see is what I get,
I haven't found what I want yet.
The screams, the rude, your attitude
makes me burn with rage toward you.
I thought things would be beautiful,
but you turned out unpredictable.
