The factory now lies empty on the bleak and stark estate,
Its corrugated roof tops are all slowly falling through,
No burning fire in chimney stacks and all machines are still,
Hushed the days and evenings now there's no more work to do.

I've watched you learn and seen you grow
I've taught you things you didn't know,
I've shared your laughter and your tears
And all your heartaches and your fears,

My love is like a scarlet rose,
It buds,
It blooms,
Then fades and goes,

The shattered stones upon the rugged mountains,
That roll and fall then crumble through the years,
And to the elements they do surrender,
Then washed away in time by river tears.

I watch the brightest star of all
That's shining high above,
Just as the light that lights my life
It shines for you my love.

When blossom drapes the orchard boughs
Like freshly fallen snow,
When sleeping lands begin to rouse
And slowly start to grow,
