My Love Is Like A Scarlet Rose Poem by ANDREW BLAKEMORE

My Love Is Like A Scarlet Rose

Rating: 3.2

My love is like a scarlet rose,
It buds,
It blooms,
Then fades and goes,
Its petals fall
Unto the floor,
For love that shone
And yet no more.

They wither brown as time goes past
For all
That's good
Can never last,
Each day I wake I can but yearn
For love
That's lost
And won't return.

Those petals rest in silence there,
Like tears,
Of grief,
And deep despair,
Then on the wind
Away they fly,
To bid farewell,
A last goodbye.
