Away, away, away we go!
Away from here for ever more.
We ride, we ride, we ride away...to our futures.
Blindfold our eyes,
...

Make it stop!
That rumbling, droning voice,
Which makes my eyes so heavy.
My head starts nodding...
...

3.

It’s going to over flow and spill
Out. I’m sure it will.
Then what will happen?
You know, you’ve seen the pattern,
...

It burns, their eyes
Starring pointedly at the back of my head,
Burrowing into my skull.
They watch every move; record every mistake

How much more can this body hold?
Keep safely locked inside?
Away from innocent bystanders.
It builds up every day.

The screaming I can’t bear it.
Why does no one else hear?
How it rings inside my head!
Never ending…

ash cummins Biography

Hi. A lot of my poems were written during my GCSE math lessons. One or two were actually inspired by my math teacher and his ability to turn even the most talkative class of hyper teenage girls into a room of mindless zombies. But i guess i should be grateful to him as he helped me passed math and english.)

Away, Away, Away We Go!

Away, away, away we go!
Away from here for ever more.
We ride, we ride, we ride away...to our futures.
Blindfold our eyes,
We must learn to find our way in the dark.

Blindfold our eyes,
But leave our hands unbound,
So we may catch ourselves when we fall.
Fall many times we shall, in the beginning.
Soon may we learn not to run,
But to tread carefully.
When we master the darkness remove our blindfolds
And pray the light does not momentarily blind us.
But let it show us how to appreciate our surroundings.
May our eyes see keenly,
So we may catch those still blind and clumsy.

So bright, so bright, so bright shall be the end,
When we shall rest
And join the twinkling stars
Which light the darkness.
