Aya Ezzeddine Poems

The words, she spoke in her mind
She never could reach the dreams she strove to make a reality
Miles after miles, she still hasn't found the happiness within her heart she is patient to gain
Pain after pain, with no chance of delight to obtain

Silenced

The words, she spoke in her mind
She never could reach the dreams she strove to make a reality
Miles after miles, she still hasn't found the happiness within her heart she is patient to gain
Pain after pain, with no chance of delight to obtain
The scars on her skin don't give her any sense of pride
The laughter she obliged when the smile on her face said something completely different
She was lonely
Just another one of those quiet and shy girls determined to change the world but yet couldn't find a voice
She had no voice
Attempting to mimic her thoughts, she picked up a pencil and paper
Though words were never powerful enough to describe the way she felt
She was hopeless
A girl that would rather hold the hand of a stranger than her own
Because you can't see between the lines on her palms where she was never held as a kid
Instead she had to hold her own with wrists that were both shackled on each end of a bed's posts
The only person to be depended on was herself when she couldn't trust a single soul no matter who tried to win her
Although her body was weak and frail she still managed to hold herself down
It broke her inside to know that she couldn't find happiness in simply being alive
Pill after pill, distorting her vision, and blurring her mind
Her smile deceived the shine
Hiding under the shades of black mascara were her puffy eyes
Eyes that drooped shut as the silence enhanced
