Hurting In The Dark

sometimes, i just feel like my heart will collapse..
like my eyes have exuded my soul..
like after all of my effort, my pain will relapse,
and i'll fall back into that dark hole..

the hole's but a ditch; i've climbed out before,
but the time that you're in, you will parish.
you'll no longer be; you're just bones on the floor,
you'll have lost sight of all that you cherish.

you'll know you're not right; you'll fight to undo it,
but your efforts will all be in vain.
for no matter how hard you try to escape it,
the fix will remain yet arcane.

time will go by; the world will move on,
but you will no longer be in it..
you're still stuck in that pit… lifeless and gone,
a real waste of space on this planet.

sick thoughts will start weaving their ways through your brain,
and you'll actually start to consider..
what good would it be for the world to remain
than give in to death's sweetest bidder?

you'll find a sharp knife, a rope, a gun.
you'll write your very last letter:
the note that explains the reasons you're done,
and how it will make everything better.

this is the moment that splits coward from brave;
the moment that frees or condemns..
for the cowards are cursed to be pain's greatest slave,
but the brave condemn their souls and survivors.
