Carmen Mendoza Poems

I dreamed of love
And thought it beautiful,
Infinite and rove.
But in reality pitiful.
...

Four walls, all black.
No door, no way out.
It seems so bright,
But its dark inside.
...

Left alone
to grow like a stone.
Locked the door
chained to the floor.

Love Betrayed

I dreamed of love
And thought it beautiful,
Infinite and rove.
But in reality pitiful.

I believe in blood ties
Not in silly first sighted
Love, which ends in lies
And many broken hearted.

But I fell in and lost
And the game had yet to begin
I was in that love dream, the heroine,
And I enjoyed it like it was wine,
Savoring my delicious sin.
Not knowing what would be the cost.

All to soon it shattered
Falling piece by piece like falling stars,
It all scattered.
Living only, open and deeper scars.

I didn't understand this sorrow.
Men! Insolent creatures.
That only live for their own desire
To live forlorn hope to ire.
Putting up their lures
Making way to their new burrow.

The beginning is comical,
In the middle it frays.
Men! Cynical.
But the end of the story betrays.
