Love used to be at the back of my mind,
Dead and lifeless like the sun with no shine.
Then you came along and showed me love is beautiful,
You brought me to life, so strong and spiritual.

She makes my breath flow in and out,
Her lips feel smooth against my mouth.
Continually gripping my heart with love,
She gives me something to be proud of.

Your courage, your strength, I admire it all,
From the first time you rose to the last time you’ll fall,
And I’m here to watch from atop your wall.

Her and I have separate hearts,
Yet they beat to the same drum.
So I’ve concocted this little poem,
To show where I’m coming from.

I love you for giving your heart to me,
And trusting me with your pride.
I love you for wanting me,
And needing me by your side.
...

When I look into your eyes, I’m nothing but surprised.
I know about your past and how it didn’t last,
How you got hurt, burnt, abused and used,
And I bet you’re confused.
...

Sometimes I wonder what’s in your head,
You said it’s nothing… that’s what you said.
It might be nothing, but I still want to know,
Even if I say please, you tend to say no.

Flowing endlessly, words tossed on pages,
Reaching farther, spelled through the ages.
Unable to be forced, rippling with tears and sweat,
Like love, nature pulls course as yet.
...

Impossible? No.

Never a place safe for our feet,
Never somewhere to make ends meet.
...

The sun hides its face as the day comes to end,
Watching over the trees, watching it descend,
Headstrong into darkness, lost in the wood,
Aiming for guidance, a path to be understood.
