Among the rocks.

I look up at the sky each night
And see the stars, so proud and bright
As fine as diamonds, white as snow.
And as I marvel at their sight,

The faint reddish glow of the lamp through my eyelids as I lie content in my bed.
I hear
The gentle drip-drip of light rain on the tin roof.

My lonely place
That's only real inside my head,
But I visit often all the same.
Silence, sweet silence.

Her hair a beautiful golden blonde,
Flowing down her back
and shining in the dawn sunlight.
Her eyes, deep and stormy grey,
