I look out and see,

It is truly unfair,

Everyday i wake,
and see what You make.
The flowers and the trees,
they fill me with such ease.

My Friend

I look out and see,
all have forgotten me.
It is truly unfair,
they don't even glare.

What have I done?
Won't someone come?
Will I stay here?
I can no longer hear.

I haven't eaten,
since I was beaten.
I haven't slept.
I've just wept.

A knock on the door.
It's such a bore.
He's here again.
He says 'Let me in.'

Why does he care?
Is this really fair?
I open the door,
it's such a chore.

The man enters the room.
I go to get a broom.
He'll surely leave,
when He sees the real me.

He just smiles,
laughing all the while.
I tell him my name,
said I'm glad He came.

He tells me His,
it fills me with bliss.
Why does this happen?
My mood dampens.

He takes my hand.
Invites me to His land.
I stand confused.
I almost refused.

He calls me friend.
I think it's a trend.
I play along.
I don't belong.

He tells a story,
of a place of glory.
I begin to listen,
my eyes glisten.

Soon it ends.
my will bends.
I accept His offer,
to visit Him proper.

He is my first friend.
Loneliness is at an end.
His words can seize us,
this Man named Jesus.
