Who Knew The Best

I walk down the streets while shivering in cold
wondering what would happen when i got old
i see people scrounging around for used needles
this picture i see is just not the best
who knew the best would end up like this
who knew the best could ever be left homeless
who knew the best would turn out to live in trash
when i walk i cringe and my body freezes
I stop and talk but i get weird feelings
I offer them money but will they not take it
I offer them food because im sure they will not make it
I vist them often and share my stories
who knew the best could have such a great past
this may seem creepy but im good friends now
with the homeless outside the grocery store
she tells me stories that make me laugh and sometimes even laughs herself
she is such a nice person everyone judges so wrong
why not get to know the person,
you wont regret it in the end
her name is Elizabeth such a pretty girl, who knew the best could end up homeless
she used to have a great paying job but soon got fired cause her boss wanted to rob
later in her life she lost her house, then all she had to live with were the clothes on her body
I've never met such a nice person, and i've never felt so bad either
Elizabeth did drugs so she could live, sooner than later passed
she had an overdose on a drug so common Heroins the name
still to this day i have pictures of us, its been a couple years but thus our laughs will not fade
