Elton Dean Poems

The air tonight is cold and will not allow the mist to settle,
So it looms mid-air frozen in chains.
The snow has fallen and sits undisturbed waiting to erode,
But it will turn to ice to take my balance before it’s done.
...

The sun will rise and throw the moon into exile,
We all sit here in the shadows,
And we let the world turn until it’s time to leave.
Dreams can turn to dust if left alone.
...

These words I type are meaningless to those who hold no meaning,
My breath is nothing but waste lost in the atmosphere,
My dreams are to be laughed at and torn apart,
I do not have the right to stand any more.
...

Tonight the sea is calm,
But the timbers of my boat still creak.
The sails fly flat as the wind has left me,
And the moon is held hostage by the clouds.
...

5.

The stone walls will echo the cold,
And I will freeze where I stand.
No love lies here,
And the stained glass has destroyed my vision.

Elton Dean Biography

Each and every one one of us needs a route of escape, to take a step out of reality and breath. Poety provides me with this escape. When life throws challenge or causes me pain, I am able to write. Once my emotions are written out before me, I am able to put closure to my feelings and to carry on living. I suppose its my form of therepy. I have never shown my work to anyone, and i have felt that they are going to waste, so i have decided to publish them. They may not be any good, i dont know, but they are there to save them going to waste. Thank you for reading. Elton)

Life Is Death

The air tonight is cold and will not allow the mist to settle,
So it looms mid-air frozen in chains.
The snow has fallen and sits undisturbed waiting to erode,
But it will turn to ice to take my balance before it’s done.

The street is hallow with no one breaking the cold silence,
Even the street light shivers as it stands.
For I am alone but in the company of loneliness,
For I am the star that will forever rotate and never change course.

My heart is dying with the pain of much wanted love,
My hands are growing too old to feel the warmth of another,
My eyes fail to see the truth before me,
My mind is losing the battle with conscience.

Dreams no longer dictate happiness but are there to taunt me,
Hope fades with the winds that die.
Beliefs are to be questioned in the time that passes,
Life is death without its purpose.
