If you have a pair of eyes
That looks beyond the skin
And beholds the Divine essence
Within every race
...
My Brethren
If you have a pair of eyes
That looks beyond the skin
And beholds the Divine essence
Within every race
If you possess a tongue
That extols the beauty
In every face
In spite of colour or grace
If you bear a heart;
A large heart
Pure and swift in compassion,
That holds none in derision,
But complaisant to all and sundry.
If yours is a face
Quick with a smile
To mend a broken heart,
A cheer to create and sustain
The bond of love and friendship
In spite of race or creed,
Then lend me your hand of fellowship
For you are
My brethren indeed.
