Eshita Hatwal Poems

What am I today?
Just a piece of paper, perhaps.
Remember the times
You used to fight,

See them;
These gorgeous, gigantic
Lumps of rocks.
Beautifully fading

I'm a misfit, I thought.
The one who quarrels everyday,
With one and all...
Relationships I cannot sustain.
...

I would walk
With both my hands filled;
One with a fiery lamp,
Another with bucket of water.

What am I today?
Just a piece of paper, perhaps.
Remember the times
You used to fight,
During the day and the night,
Just to get more of me.
Where's all that going now?
Why is it ending with a blow.
Remember the times
When people offered me to you
The happiness on your face
The spark in your eyes
Oh! That was all so true.
I hope you do not forget
The times you craved for me
And I went flying in different hands.
Well, probably, Karma does work.
First it was me, now it's you.
Many like me have been long forgotten
Yet, I hope to be of some value again.
