I woke up and before I got out of bed I thought...
about words of a poem which I'd not yet wrought.
I once heard about something 'God' had 'wrought',
but THAT is not what, by tonight, I hope I've brought

Hard were the calluses on my Daddy's hands the first time he held me,
and hard it was on Christmas morn' to find only one small gift beneath our tiny tree.
Hard was my Mom's life, raising seven kids and washing other people's clothes.
Without our family's belief in God, life could have been harder.Who knows?

Joan, a 'Love Child', 'Our Girl', was at our wedding.
Alan, our first son, came soon after & loved sledding.
Carole, red-haired, green-eyed, arrived with her twin,
Karl Jr., but Karl died in infancy, with his dimple in chin.

Up at dawn to greet the day!
I'd rise sooner if I had my way.
Eat three eggs, and veggies too.
That's what we're all 'posed to do.

her ‘advanced' herb class teacher,
Aki thought of her youth in postwar Japan …
and the decades since, thus to reach her ….

In the seemingly-"calm" years in Japan, Aki was born in '49.
Her mother & her father had two sons by that post-war time.
At a "nearby shrine", Aki saw white-clad veterans ring bells as they begged,
some missing "parts of their face", and/or limb(s)e.g. arm(s)or leg(s) .

Yes, Darien had a small Tiffany’s store and that was where we went.
Entering it, I could not help myself; I asked Sheila “Shall we buy or rent? ”

Over fifty years ago a boy named Bri.... lived in mid-New York.
One day he took a pole to a pond and caught a fish, not pork.
After hooking it, Bri thought.....that playing the fish could be a chore,
so Bri yanked HARD on the pole. The fish flew through the air, landing on the shore.
