It has been two decades a cold and bleak day
The dark clouds of rain they were low in the sky
When to the life that i knew i said goodbye.

And I've travelled a bit and been in many a town
And though home is where the heart is some are known to say
I still yearn for new places and new towns far away

why some people wish for power over others i will never understand
For to wish one to jump to their every command
The would be dictators of the World it does seem
They see abuse of their power as good for their self esteem,

Through lush and rushy fields where the cock pheasant crow
The Cails from Kippagh down to the Finnow flow
And in fancy i can hear the male robin sing
His voice to me does have a familiar ring.

Australia the home of the red and the grey kangaroo
And different species of the white and the black cockatoo
Of wallabies, wombats, platypus and emu
In a Land of varying climates to it's own Nature true.

And what is life about at all if we die and are no more
If there is not another World beyond this Earthly shore
When the reaper claims the life from us it will not matter to us at all
When in Nature's bosom we do lay if none our name recall.
