Though everyone's dream for them does not come true
We all have our dreams in life for to pursue
In life as in all things one is in need
Of luck on their side for them for to succeed

Life it is not all fun and merrymaking and beer
Or enduring happiness, laughter and cheer
No joy in the poor side of the town
Among the homeless and the financially down
...

She had known him for a month in time not a long span
But in him she felt she had found her right man
True love in her young mind did blossom and grow
And the one in love has the bright inner glow
...

I did think about giving rhyming away
But I could hear a voice from in my mind say
On what you like doing why should you call time
For as long as you can do keep on penning rhyme
...

The songbird does have a last song for to sing
And for all of us there will be a final Spring
The difference between us and the birds is that we do realize
That for us there will be a last sunset and a last sunrise
...

If I return to Duhallow it will have to be in Spring
When in the leafy groves and woodlands the nesting songbirds sing
For Spring in Duhallow is a lovely time of year
With the weather getting warmer and Summer days are near
...

Knowledge is never a weight on the mind
Those open to learning become the enlightened kind
We learn as we live something new every day
That knowledge is not a burden only true to say
...

Since for it I never receive money for pay
I have been advised by some for to give rhyming away
But compared to their big dreams in life mine are so small
And money it does not interest me at all
...

Some former presidents and prime ministers on political and current affairs love to have their say
It is so hard for them to give their power away
To the leaders of the current government they offer unsolicited advice
Free media publicity for this is their price
...

He is short on money and feeling quite sad
And he does feel that life has been treating him bad
The praises of life at present he does not sing
But he forgets that life does not owe anyone anything
