I wish I were a turtle,
To lay my eggs so fertile
And trudge away and never look back
My progeny to find their destiny

A London bus conductor
Had a beautiful daughter
Who was learning to play the oboe,
But needed an instructor.

Purposeless, chained to a wife,
Turns into idolatry,
Man abhors a vacuum life,
A spicy mistress is Mystery;
...
Within the abyss that engulfs me,
Pit dark from pole to pole,
Why should I thank the gods that be,
For my fragile and broken soul?
...
Peering through a telescope
Mesmerized by the Cosmos
Frozen in the moment
Till dust gathers on their eyelashes

Love comes in many guises
"A many splendor thing"
A clown, a dwarf, a harlequin,
Clover, rose, and seven spices,

The Stone Age, The Bronze Age, The Iron Age, are passed
Welcome to the Fluff Age of Western Civilization
Amazing what this era has brought us

Real life is lived privately and within
I write some of my poems just for me
They make me laugh & cry. I arrange,
And rearrange words, till they fit

THROUGH MIDNIGHT
What is midnight? No way to go
Forward. Hard and tight

The Chasm
She gave me a smile I gave her a wink.
She gave me another smile

I Wish I Were...
I wish I were a turtle,
To lay my eggs so fertile
And trudge away and never look back
My progeny to find their destiny
In dry, hot desert, or ocean freeze…
No need to raise them up
Or pay for college fees…
I wish I were a mother bear
To sleep for half a year
Deep in the darkness of my den
Blissful in a dream world
Knowing no pain of labor
My cubs are delivered
What is epidural for?
I wish I were a cicada
To lay my brood deep in the soil
Beneath a flowering jacaranda
And seventeen years of slumber, no toil
Hatch out in chorus and amorous flirt
And even after a nuclear blast
Rise up out of the dust…
I wish I were an albatross
Thousands of leagues of oceans cross
Sleeping on wings and making sport
Of thunderous storms and human borders
Without a Visa or Passport
Who cares for a fence or a wall?
I'd mock them all! I'd mock them all!

You have heard it said: 'Everything in moderation...' but I say, moderation too, should be in moderation. That means, occasionally, but ever so occasionally, we engage in the crazy things in life: get on a roller coaster, or a bungee jump, shout, scream and holler, lough uncontrollably, get mad and angry... etc. These are the insane moments that keep our sanity in check. Otherwise, we would not be human, but machines. Even machines break down from time to time, you know...
