Never love a poet.

He'll be cynical and observant
But never to your face
...

Age her only virtue
He fails to rise from just a kiss
which shows his age,
and hers that expects it

The Best Poem Of Hannah Daughtry

Poetically Screwed

I'm not a poet
Yes, I know it

I can't write of things
I've never experienced
Love, rage and kings

I can't write of
Flowers and sun-rays
I can't even do word-play!

I couldn't tell you how
If I met the pope, now
And I asked him
To quote Psalm 23
And he said "My child,
Whatever do you mean? "
And I said "Oh nothing,
Just a song by Queen."

And he sang the first verse
Of Bohemian Rhapsody
Then his voice got hoarse
And he said he had to pee
Probably because he didn't
Remember the words properly

I couldn't tell you about
My lesbian liaison
‘It' smelled like out-of-date salmon
I whined of men being lazy
And how ‘b*****s be crazy'

I can't write of my children
All 10 (I pray not, amen)
I can't tell you their quirks
When they're awake
They're jerks
But, I love them nonetheless
I say it, under
Circumstances of Duress

I can only write of what I do
An element of it, is all true
I don't know if it's a virtue
Or am I poetically Screwed?
