With switchblade in hand I could slit my neck
But then I recall that I left my Valium
Underneath my cedar deck

A magical odyssey then would unfold
A night of such passion with hearts on two sleeves
Champagne on a porch and then, later, tea leaves

She was scowling and her dreadlocked
Filthy hair appeared to be moving
As maggots swam through the dandruffed locks
That haplessly rested on her shoulders

Snow, white, frigid, chilling
Unwalked on virgin lace afghans
Shimmering in the porcelain moonlight
...

Narrow and unyielding, enigma
Yet he treats patients with utmost brilliance
His advice bathing them in guidance and
Nurturing a sense of safety and wellness
...

I went to see you at your grave
But you were never there
You went the moment that you died
To sit on Heaven’s stair
...

When your life is feeling broken
And you want to scream out loud
Or tear your hair or punch the wall
Or climb under a cloud
...

Her curls were golden
And her eyes were such a piercing blue
Her dress was splattered polka dots
Upon a scarlet hue
...

Don’t try to be cute because this is my house
And I am the one in charge of the mouse
I know what mom is hoping will be
But there will never be You And Me!

We slept side by side peacefully for hours
