And pray for healing till the dawn from your window sill
Reminders of God’s watchful eye, Your Life within his care
Love and Health and Patience all hanging in the air
...

I think I might be in hell
Because those whispering around me
Have not made me privy to where the
Key to the whiskey cabinet is
...

Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray I will not stay awake
That angels' calm will quiet thoughts
Until the dawn is ours to take
...

Forested pathways, lush plentiful needles
Clinging to the evergreen brother branch
Gently leading to their mother trunk
Cascading from ground to sky
...

I looked around one day
And felt I was alone
An empty shell, a timeless hour
With pale and shallow tone
...

I believe in Heaven
Where the flowers never die
And Angels are our closest friends
To help us touch the sky
...

I am not alone, for my shadow accompanies me
Strolling through sand the color of gold-spun wheat
As the seamless horizon beckons us
By winking beyond the splashing waves

Where do they go if they voluntarily
Leave of their own doing
At their own hand thereby rendering
God’s applecart unmercifully upended

The past is a present
Tied in a bow
With tissue-lined lessons
