I looked around one day
And felt I was alone
An empty shell, a timeless hour
With pale and shallow tone
My life was on my back
A burden unto me
No union here, just dim-lit paths
As far as eyes could see
It felt remotely strange
To be so all alone
No one to hold, no one nearby
To claim as if my own
Then sadly I remembered
That I was there with you
Your vacant eyes, distracted smile
No color showing through
How tragic was it then
To come into my own
And know that life with you
Felt just like being
ALONE
