drowning sea-gulls` cries in the air;
how the heavy wave in despair
is throwing itself upon the coastal rocks,

LIFE
Prostration in your heart,
lacklustre eyes,
lost dreams and no chance to rise.

The die is cast - you`ve got a hope
You give your fancy the full scope
You feel a blast - your dream breaks loose
A flight of the dream - just take and use

With a wide flap
of imaginary wings
I rise above the stream

Your life just smoulders like a small piece of coal.
And into air silently your low spirits flow.
Your smile is lost and life is draped in grey.
The tears in your eyes mean words too deep to say.

for me retired into one and only

Igor Status Biography
I was born on September 7,1965 in Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan. Reading books, painting and wood burning were my greatest hobbies of my childhood. Since 2000 I have been living in The Netherlands. For several years I had been writing poems in English and Russian. Besides I also had been busy with translations of books from English and Dutch into Russian. During my life in The Netherlands my passion for art and creativity has grown very strongly. For the last several years I have been busy with creating art. I keep working to create my own unique art style. With a wide flap of imaginary wings I rise above the stream of tedious fuss and there in the soaring flight a silhouette of a new verse will flash and my heart shall flutter thrilled by the birth of the new song. So I wrote 10 years ago, when writing of poetry was my greatest passion. My wings are getting still stronger and they let me rise in the air still higher to explore new horizons.)

Light Of Your Love
Like a ship
that passes in the night
you again come in my dreams by night.
But, alas,
the dreams last not so long -
they're carried with the morning breeze
away at dawn.
Vanishing you whisper:
'Think of me sometimes'.
And only light
of your ever-present love
remains to gleam in skies.
Most likely,
it's easy for you now to be
somewhere far away,
where you still whisper:
'Remember me
for ever and a day'.
'My darling, -
I whisper in reply, -
through life's long day
my thoughts are
with the days gone by,
where you remain
for ever in my tears,
and light of your ever-present love
does gleam a length of years'.
I know,
you'll again come in my dream,
and night shall whirl us
in its dizzy dance;
and light of our ever-present love
will stream
from the celestial skies
upon each one of us.
But, alas,
as always,
like a bird you'll fly
away
through the open window
before daybreak,
and I'll
remain in the captivity
of silence and a void,
at night,
in the space where love
did once upon a time reside.
