And panic with a glee dance around the edges

Smiles and laughter long gone
Whispers of sweet nothings lost
Beauty of past fades from memory
Silence, silence is all that remains
...

The fox ran for his life,
a step ahead of death,
no respite in sight,
through the forest of sir aberneth
...

Be it Elite, Modern or Parle
or from a local baker's tray.
a pack of square shaped delight,
if you guessed bread, you are right.

Softly burning embers in my chest,
I know not who put it there,
when the wind shifts, the embers flare,
Then my fist slowly clench and my teeth are bared
