Jay Ash Poems

She wasn't planning to meet anybody
But it happened- as things do
when you forget you don't own
the stakes to your life- turns out
...

And she waited- bit her lip
down the middle, fumbled with the invisible
ring on her finger, looked at the watch
that was not there on her wrist, waited
...

And that's how you break someone:
aim at the pump, and hit
the fattest vein till it splutters
and the blood pours trickling
...

You're the only one who's got
your back. Don't forget that,
darling- -don't forget it's easy
to be subsumed by the little
...

It's funny how wheels run
over rotten tomatoes and cats
alike.

Sweet Serendipity

She wasn't planning to meet anybody
But it happened- as things do
when you forget you don't own
the stakes to your life- turns out
it was a pleasant surprise, sweet
serendipity brought things into place
and then she didn't feel quite so
flustered anymore.

Till the dice started rolling again,
that is.
