We delighted in her life as we mourned the fact she's not with us anymore.

What struck us immediately were the photos of Rose as a child,

BASEBALL

Walking by an empty stadium I was reminded the other day
of when we took our children to the ball park to watch grown men at play.
...

So many things in life are out of our control
We don't control the sun, the moon, , the stars, the wind…the rain
We don't control those moments when our heart fills up with pain.
...

Today we close our eyes,
we stand,
we sit
we get down on bended knee
...

I've seen children…young boys…walking arm in arm
their faces in identical grins
I've seen them laughing….playing, hugging
without questioning the different colors of their skin…
...

She sang just above a whisper…her sleeping baby on her thigh
having already succumbed to the enchantment of her mother's lullaby.

The mother nodded when we stopped to listen before moving along
...

It's amazing what we can learn from other people who come from other lands
If we take the time to listen…if we take the time to understand.

I had a friend…from a different country…a far off distant land
...

It's funny how someone can light up your life as they brighten your morning too.
It's even funnier when it's someone you never met…someone you never knew.

I never new this little old man…never knew his name
...

Everyone we meet whether a cause of joy or sorrow or strife
writes another chapter into our book of life.

I met Phil and Lee when they were in their eighties.
