I watched her from the flower grove,
She passed me by everyday.
The butterflies lofting about only added to her grace,
They illuminate her lovely face.
...

Please listen to what I've to say,
With open ear and focused mind.
I've only a moment to confide;
I've wanted to say this for so long.
...

To my fellow claustrophobic:
three cheers for your latest endeavor-
I heard you conquered the coffin last night.
...

countless,
countless are the words you've spoken
in your broken rhetoric. A foreigner to this
country and untempered to our customs,
...

I made a mistake,
and I thought you were a blank page.
I wanted to let my ink drip all over you.

I Watched Her From The Flower Grove

I watched her from the flower grove,
She passed me by everyday.
The butterflies lofting about only added to her grace,
They illuminate her lovely face.
And so one day I felt courage,
Not unlike the lion's pride;
I stepped out from behind to take what was so surely mine.
She screamed with fear and I heard her praise;
She jumped with fright and I saw her passion;
She ran from me and I chased like a dog;
Now I know that's what she thought I was.
A man no better than a mutt, not suitable for love's embrace;
I sulked away, tail between legs, maybe I'll try some other day.
