Joseph Bernal Poems

His hour had come, for his mother smiled
And sighed beside her infant child,
But she too answered to the curse
And found herself an older nurse
...

When our eyes first met
I knew I was caught in a net
But too nervous to ask you and with my heart so wild
So I thought best and just sat there and smiled
...

It was as bad as world hunger
Wishing it would last no longer.
With there hands stretching out
Wanting to scream and shout.
...

My nightmares still haunt me
They all scream at me like a banshee
They're poison to my mind
And constantly keeps me confined
...

please Remember Me!

I don't want to make you cry,
But it's time to say goodbye.
...

Bow down to me as you should
And fear me as you would
For I am the bringer of blackness
And the cause of sadness
...

The Mortals End

His hour had come, for his mother smiled
And sighed beside her infant child,
But she too answered to the curse
And found herself an older nurse

A person thought to keep his gold
As a shield from the coming cold,
But what cared death for life gains
He smiled at the person's pains.

Neither crown or coin can stop times flight
Or stop the armies of the night.
King or villain lad and lass
All answer to the hour glass

The lantern holder lights the way
For those who no longer lives the day;
Blind eyes peer out from every head
That crowds the carriage of the dead

For a gentle hand will help the dead
To find the way to their last bed,
Who ever makes up the mortals end
Will tell you he is man's best friend.
