Light Up My Candle

My hearts walls are up!
I give polite smiles,
Love's not abrupt
True trust takes me awhile.
I feel quite afraid
And super self-conscious.
When mistakes are made
My feelings are anxious.
How can I do this
And feel like I'm happy..
Familiar I miss,
And my feeling is 'lonely'.

I sigh a small prayer,
'God light up my candle!
I know it's not fair
To let myself handle
This window of time
With doubts and great fears
This life is not mine
And it must bring You tears..
To see me have doubts
And be so afraid! '

Then the cloud leaves
I feel the warm sun
God 'lights up my candle'
I have courage to run.
My smile feels true,
The walls crumble down..
Happiness comes
Instead of the blue

I pray to my Father
'Lord thanks once again!
Oh let Your Light shine
All the way through,
So others will see
No, not me, but YOU! ! '
I want to fulfill
Your purpose for me
And I know that to do so
My heart must be still
I can't stop and worry
How I must look.
True trust is the key
My guide is the Book.
Thanks to my Father
I have courage to run
No matter my weakness
The victory is won.
