Katherine Byrd Poems

Look at me.
What am I?
The girl in the corner,
A person left to die.
...

I felt you with me;
Now no longer.
You have pushed me from the tree
But I've learned, it makes me stronger.
...

I find myself in the same place,
Alone and terribly cold.
Just stuck in the same case,
Making me recall teary times of old.
...

My heart was broken,
Shattered into millions on the ground, like glass.
To him it was a friendly token,
But I closed off and said ‘do not trespass.'
...

It is evening as I sit alone
In the fading light, hearing a silent moan,
With only a little candle light.
I think of wanting love, the coming night,
...

My eyes wander to the window glass
And I see the sky crying
On tree, dirt, and grass,
Like a lover's broken heart of truth lying.
...

I want us to love.
For life to be as simple as this:
A person that cares for me, like keeper to dove
And for emptiness to be exchanged to bliss.
...

Katherine Byrd Biography

Greetings people! My name is Katherine Byrd. I enjoy reading and writing poetry quite a bit. Please read some of my poems... I am in high school and cannot let most people read what I write because they cannot comprehend its meaning. So, I do not know if my poetry is worth anything or not. Some comments with feedback would be nice and please do not judge my punctuation, I know it is probably mostly wrong.)

The Best Poem Of Katherine Byrd

The Bird

Look at me.
What am I?
The girl in the corner,
A person left to die.

Where is the hope?
I am at the top of the mountain,
Hope is down the slope.
I do not intend on going down.

I turn my eyes
To the gray sky
I see a bird as it tries
To glide; but it stops when it sees me.

I reach up my hand
To the precipitating sky as I see you come down
To soundly stand
On my withering hand.

You are a raven; yes?
But your eyes are so crystal blue
And your touch is so gentle, but enslaving no less.
I caress you with my hand.

As I do, your wings flutter
Toward the sky of cumulonimbus.
Now, the ground looks as if it is clutter
And I realize I am in the air with you.

I see the world
In a different way;
You begin to grow on me
And I hope with me, you will stay.

We land in an immense tree.
As your beak touches my lips,
I dropp to my knee
And my eyes fall closed.

I hear you speak
And I awaken.
However, I am weak.
We both know you can make me well.

A prince you are, for now, yet a bird
You gently raise me up and we glide together.
I know this sounds absurd,
But I never want this to end.
