I have been through a lot and I picked up writing poetry as my outlet. Some of my poems are very sad but I don't always feel that way! Some of my poems are better than others, but I keep them all anyhow because they always remind me that I can get through anything. Writing has made me stronger as a person and I hope to pursue it as a career after graduation.)

Words

Coffee cup after coffee cup,
My words don't flow easy tonight,
Frustrated and unorganized,
None of my rhymes seem just right,

I feel lost inside myself,
As I sit and try to write,
Coughing up pretty words,
Never used to be a fight,

And if I don't have my words,
I've never felt so alone,
Watching the rain fall down,
Shivering in the bitter cold,

And I wonder What it'd be like,
If I didn't push away,
The ones who truly cared for me,
Because there is so much left to say,

And I'll leave this poem unfinished,
Just like all the rest,
Leaving the world with questions.
That's when my words work best.
