We struggle and stumble until we die
What lesson is this that we have to learn
Be careful because the tide will turn

The streets of my mind are vacant tonight
The store fronts of my memories are closed
The sidewalks of my dreams are empty
The fountain of my hopes flows no more
...

How can we love this way
It makes me want to pray
That selfish thoughts
Have gone astray

Words of love and praise untold
Poetry reigns and dreams unfold
Hope is shattered all too soon
We waved goodbye beneath the moon

Alone at last the day is done
Busy home chores I want to run
But where to go
I just don’t know

From love to death is it some hype
You must categorize what you write
For fear the hand of fate may smite
