My Heart

I don’t know why my heart is like this but I can already feel it closing up,
Like a big game it all happens again,
I don’t want this to happen and yet it still does,
I have no control over this thing,
It’s just a plain old instinct,
I’d stop it if I could but it’s a full blown reaction,
It’s not that I want this,
It’s just my heart trying to protect me.
