In the books I always read
about foreign lands far away
girls sigh, 'Oh marvelous he.'
And dance the night away.
...
I sit at my desk
elbows perched precariously on the edge of the surface
trying to imagine some inspiration for a poem
Cars and buses glide a story down from my window
...
I make my way down Pellington Road
To take the path that nobody knows
To find something special in the dark
To light up my world with a raging spark
...
Fairytale Fantasy
In the books I always read
about foreign lands far away
girls sigh, 'Oh marvelous he.'
And dance the night away.
But love is always forbidden
the girl will scream and cry
The princess locked away safe and hidden
Then a prince will come and save her
grateful tears in his eyes.
Though life isn't a fairytale
I'll admit I love to dream
I tell myself it's untrue
But I still hope that one day
someone will come and rescue me.
