The sun cut a clear swath across the lake
A shining imperious unreachable wake
Above spread a creamy twilight sky- with the moon beyond
While whiskey colored leaves fringed the Autumn pond

In search of an answer to Love's mystery
Plaintive haunting tunes- the desolate voice
Of loneliness- no time to rejoice

Looking outward at the structures
The walls that men have built
The celestial mirror reflects our soul
The inner pause...and flash of guilt

If we were lovers...
what a carriage we would ride
Across the sky like lightning
And Down through canyons so wide

You left me Lord two blessings
- a nuptial gift of Love
The birds would sing in human terms
Had they the knowledge of

The morning sung catches me unawares
'Tis dawn, Tis daw' the golden finch blares
My eyes gaze out on a desolate sea
To a fisherman's trawl beyond a statuesque tree.

We work with an irreverent fear of the past
The shadowy melancholy of forgotten times
Irresponsible- immoral - yet so defiant
A sacred betrayal of forgotten rhymes

The azaleas are in bloom right now
The rhododendron- bluish purplish pink
Send their fragrances heavenward
While you, Jenna, pick your time to ascent.

Such oval colored shapes
The wonder of these lovely grapes
The skin when punctured, slowly bleeds
Uncolored juice with tiny seeds

To tilt our head toward the glass
And measure with our nose
The earthy smell of truffles
And sweet petals of the rose
