Muhammad Yahya Poems

I sat down
And down my heart went
On a journey
To the underworld
...

A sting is all that I need
And the pain maintains its speed
I close my eyes and bleed
So much for the saving creed
...

Emotions collide
Images don’t last
In a blurry motion
Speeding fast
...

No, no, no!
This won’t do
Girls get pregnant
Men just woo
...

…And she was sitting right there
Right in front of me
In all her beauty
All her innocence
...

Heads or tails?
Win or fail
Lips or eyes?
Live or die
...

The Best Poem Of Muhammad Yahya

I Sat Down

I sat down
And down my heart went
On a journey
To the underworld
Skipping a beat or two
Pumping less blood
Than actually required
Although just for a moment

I got up
And something inside of me died
A total collapse occurred
When I sighed

I walked around a bit
Looked
Sensed
Tasted
Wondered
Feelings didn’t feel
And life that had become
Cold and dead
Like steel
Felt nothing
I lit a cigarette
That wooden taste across my tongue
And the tobacco
Warmly heated
Kissed my wrinkled lips
Nothing helped
(Nothing ever helps)
I wondered…
What next!
