This Cell
Five foot wide only this room extends,
Six foot long this barren room it ends,
A windowless hell of pure stagnation,

Grounded

The water ripples gently, the trees, reflected with perfection,
I wonder how and why, my life, ever landed amidst this intersection,
...

Beautiful yet elusive, she walks, beside him indefinitely,
No other woman, could accompany him, so completely,
She holds him firm, in
the face of oppositional
...

This kiss, the simplest of affections, made my world dissolve, only you remained in the
longest moment,

Every kiss dissolves what

Seven Sins of Relationships
There are but, seven deadly sins,to any existingrelationship,
Yes seven sins, to be avoided, if you value your companionship,
Stay with me, whilst we list, factorsinhibiting emotional tranquility,
...

Broken

I see the silence of your heart, it is vivid in your mannerisms, contrary to your intended portrayal,
I see the shadow of escaping trust, the inward battle so sadly projected, extended effort it does entail,
...

A mother grieves, the inevitable loss of her unborn baby devastating,
She feels cheated, of the experiences lost while patiently waiting,
The lost potential, is paramount in the process of this grief,
Those well intentioned, words of comfort offer little relief,
...

Beauty Dissuaded
Society is lost, hooked on imagery, existing in a cavalcade of false presentation,
Selective images, the approved look, glamorous and seeking fraudulent attention,
Your different, you tell me, so now let's take a close up look at your statement,
...

On a dark cold night, while the rest of the world, was peacefully sleeping,
A solitary young woman, a precious newborn, their lives were entwining,
Those baby blue eyes, that midnighthair, as he lay resting upon her chest,
The softest skin, with little baby wrinkles, who would have guessed? ,
...

This mirror reflects thereality, defiance pointless, a mere impression the only remanent,
Etched within my soul, lifelong experiences, each one efficaciously ardent,
I show many signs, of old age, my well earned, battle wounds,
Characteristically profound, this war against age, overtly it consumes,
...

Her inspiration burns within, assuming movements of foreign characteristics, as she presents oneself,
Armed with imagination and determination, her performance is aimed chiefly at herself,
Slowly and deliberately she will ensue her goal, warming the audience in her embrace,
Her thoughts and fears, her inadequacies she will for this interim, purposely misplace,
...

Basking quietly, conversing idly with my coffee cup, as the steam slowly dissipates,
A crisp cigarette, perched upon the ashtray, slowly burning as it patiently awaits,
Twisting my pen around my fingers, pausing momentarily, holding the tip to my cheek,
Rummaging determinedly, exploring every possibility before capturing the phrase I seek,
...

Committed Eyes
One reflection exists, withinthe confines, of this particular iris,
Only one image, one consideration, one person overly precious,
Your anger, a misconception, I would neverconsider another allurement,
...

Vanishing Point
You don't like this, you cant stand that, I should change mywild unruly hair,
Prefer a dress to this, you don't like those, make upis a daily must to wear,
Don't ridethe bike, change my friends, because they don't suit your picky taste,
...

Age hath wearied me, the youthful vision, erased from my perceptions,
I think so much more, contemplating so slowly, my recollections,
Those moments untold, that passed, within a fleeting instant,
Somehow they missed, the complexity, intellectually relevant,

A bleak sky, luminousclouds, the promise of a storm predicted,
A back drop of darkened poise, causing our lady to seem haunted,
There she stands upon the hill, majestic, mystical and unchallenged,
Against her beauty the ominous sky, is all but completely expunged,
...

Romancing the Night.
There's blushing blooms of sincerity, withintricate complexity, the chaotic order is arranged,
The dying rays are resting, contentiously grasping, to shadows prior to becoming estranged,
Tangerine clouds a garnish, on the sinking horizon, a tribute to the daylightstimely demise,
...

The sun creeps through the window, the same as always before,
Your towel still hangs, inanimately upon the bedroom door,
I sit holdingmy coffee, in the center of my large bed so empty,
Your no longer here yet, your scent still lingers faintly,
...

Dear John…
I am one of the last people, you ever got to see,
Yesthose flowers of orange and white, theywere from me,
I was there in the ambulance, holding firm your hand,

This Cell

This Cell
Five foot wide only this room extends,
Six foot long this barren room it ends,
A windowless hell of pure stagnation,
Whist pondering my apt condemnation,

This cell, my cell, the centre of my universe,
This life, my life, no way to seek reverse,

Broken thus tormentedneighbours a plenty,
Failing to observe the rules of humanity,
Shocking crimesdenote the dinner conversation,
Yet inwardly they"re hiding the real lamentation,

This cell, my cell, everyone's so tough,
This life, my life, outwardlyso rough,

The dark shines fear on the hardest criminals,
Sleeping in fits and starts a truth in actuals,
Crying at 3am wishing to just be safely home,
We tire of being isolated and sovery alone,

This cell, my cell a hell I created,
This life, my life, this devil I invited,

Staring down concrete nowhere left to roam,
Needingcompassion from the ever silent phone,
Who will understand I cannot forgive myself,
Who cares for my soulupon Satan's shelf,

Who will free me when Ilocked the chain,
Who if any will stand by me and remain,
Who will holdclose the memory of my person,
Who will love me even with my cold aversion,

This cell, my cell, forces me to contemplate,
This life, my life, my reflection I do debate,

These bars drain the love and care of our society,
I am challenged by the days unending drudgery,
I cannot blame another for my chosen sins,
From this cell no survivor ever really wins,

This cell, my cell, I am dead inmy reality,
This life, my life, I ammy very own fatality.

Thank you for such a lovely comment. Whilst my writes are seemingly written from that perspective they are not my experiences. Nell

This poet is amazing, read heaps of her poems. Crazy to think that some of these poems might just have been based on real event and put into a whole new perspective. Keep up the good work.
