The sun creeps in
The room to find us
But we are hidden
In the darkness

It pulls at the corners of your smile
It makes your laughter out of tune
It makes your face so white and wan
And ghostly like the moon
...
Hiding in the shadows, hidden in the dark
Lurking, watching, waiting
Plotting, planning, anticipating
Circling like hungry, savage sharks

Until too late
That every day
That passes by
Is a day lost
For you and I
And all my plans, all my reasons
Fell like leaves
In the Autumn season
All my words and all your trust
Turned to ashes
Turned to dust
All that is left is
This broken bridge
Stretched across
A river of silence
Time is not a friend of mine
It did not stop
