Slowly the mind drifts on
supported by a battered body
it has been carried for such a long time
it cannot remember not being helped
The body is too weak to carry any more
the mind itself too heavy and strong
age has ruined both
to them the future does not exist
Soon the body will stumble and collapse
the mind will try to keep itself alive
ignoring the chaos around it
as the body begins to die
Eventually the mind will escape
leaving the broken body behind it
it won't need a body now
it will be powerful enough to support itself
Much that it will have learned it will forget
until it can find another body
but before that it must fade away
like the body that contained it
and become little more than a memory
