24 Hours
Wouldn’t it be the best damn day
if everyone stopped to breathe,
take a single breath,
no more no less,
before the day is forced to leave?
A single rush of filling air,
another taste at that which is life.
One more glance at the setting sun,
for the day is done,
and now onto the night.
In the night the darkness shines,
with the moon and stars alike,
but I can not wait
for the coming date
when there is no day,
and only night.
