Somebody’s cat was out howling last night
I opened my window to yell
Leaning on sill with a coating of ice
When out of the window I fell
I hurtled headlong a bush broke my fall
Thank goodness I thought o by golly
Sharp pains everywhere reminded me then
Where I’d planted a large bush of holly
Screams woke the kids who laughed at my plight
They found it all very amusing
Their dad stuck headfirst in a prickly bush
And Mum found it very confusing
Cut bruised and frozen I limped back inside
And hobbled back up to my bed
Vowing next time should the howling occur?
To let someone else yell instead
