.4. Its Spreading Poem by David Threadgold

.4. Its Spreading

I apologised profusely
Though I meant to do no harm
I never wanted all this fuss
That caused so much alarm

I understood their feelings
And tried to put things right
I threw the switch to shut it off
That showed the awful sight

I should have been more careful
But it must have slipped my mind
I would have seen the carnage
That a look would show behind

I was late home for my dinner
So had set off in a hurry
I should have left my trailer
That continued spreading slurry

Hi David, A tremendously funny and well constructed piece of poetry, such a pleasant break from much of the 'average' poetry and such a refreshing change! Take care - Neil.
