Like large brownish snowflakes
Leaves are now falling
A damp autumn chill
Before winter comes calling
Berries on the Hawthorne
Rosehips for their bushes
Food for the birdlife
Like starling and thrushes
Acorns for the squirrels
To build up a store
When one is full up
They’ll squirrel some more
Tree’s feeding wildlife
They scatter their seed
Nature in harmony
Fulfilling a need
