.4. The British Bobby Poem by David Threadgold

.4. The British Bobby

The old British Bobby
Alas now no more
Was known by the locals
Upholding the law

Each one had a beat
To be covered each day
Sun, hail or snow
He would walk down your way

Children behaved themselves
When he came near
They were taught to respect him
And not just by fear

He took time to listen
And his actions were just
The old British Bobby
Whose word you could trust
