427. Poem by Jaden Knight

427.

What took you so long to get out of my life
I saw you running away like you had been set alight
in a way I guess you had done
as the truth burned away all your bullshit

Parts of me suspected what you were
as I gradually uncovered your games
all your stories about how your ex hurt you
when you were still seeing him
behind my then unsuspecting back

I started to give you hint about what I knew
wanted you to leave by yourself
in the end I had to force it
and am glad that I made the decision

Was so pleased when you finally snapped
and left me well alone
I don't need your drama every week
and now maybe peace can reign

What took you so long to get out of my life
I saw you running away like you had been set alight
now you're gone I can smile about it
knowing that I won't let you back in
