.6. Pills Poem by David Threadgold

.6. Pills

Rating: 5.0

So many pills
I forget what they’re for
When I’ve worked it out
They give me some more

I take oil for my joints
For depression take two
To combat the pain
Then I take quite a few

There are pills for my migraine
Some ointment for skin
Some in plastic bottles
Or wrapped up in tin

So many pills
That my stomach can’t stand
Then more pills for reflux
For life now that’s grand

I’ve taken them all
Until some were delisted
Believing they’d cure me
While doctors insisted

But I’m nearly half sure
They don’t really know
And just give more pills
Till you quietly go
