outside last night I heard
a cricket symphony
so soft, lightly low
there was a weeping in
the chords, a melodrama
to the melody
a tear rolled from my
eye and down my cheek
at the heartbreaking beauty
that enveloped me, notes
so delicate and
sweetly strained
standing in the presence
of such great heartbreak,
an amazing piece of music,
poetry with notes
