A Bittered Heart Poem by Adams King

A Bittered Heart

Rating: 5.0

They say in quietude
Lives joy in abundant
But I heard in your silence

A crying voice
A wounded soul
A bittered heart

Laughter is the mirror's
Image and display
But tears hidden inside

Are like salty ocean
That never dries
But grows deep and deep

Slowly the weevils devour
The sweet grain that grows
And leave everlasting

Holes as deep as the earth
Filled with sorrows
Never dried till death

Mournfully you murmur
But your voice remains
Unheard and wounds unhealed

The moon is your companion
At the dark of night
But the sun invites your pains

You nurse a death too big
For life, for true love never
Crossed your path
